The 60's and 70's make a comeback

We are well into the middle of the year and looks like the fashion trends for 2011 has been edging vintage fashions and is now doing its own take on the 60’s and 70’s.

Looks like the trends for 2011 is good news for the fifty plus. Who else would be an authority on styles from the 60’s and 70’s than the fifty plus woman?

You can be creative and play around with all that you wore during your 20’s and tweak it; style it to be trendy yet elegant, as only you know best.

Rich vibrant colours like purples and violets that became a bit passé and were considered loud and “too bold” are all back with a bang!

Purple is the new black for 2011 so pull out all your purple dresses and pants from the back of your closet. It is time for them to see the light of day.

Those pleated wide legged pants and knee length skirts can finally graduate from the attic to a prime place in your wardrobe alongside some cowl neck blouses with billowing sleeves. Set them off with an elegant belt and bold accessories that remind you of  “those” years.

Even the “granny skirt” is making a comeback with aplomb for the casual day outs while flowy gowns in luscious silks take over the night scene.

It is time for you to become a fashion statement that the new 20’s can look up to. They are going to be flaunting what you “owned” in the 60’s and seventies.
