Mother’s Day Tribute - A Mother’s Style
As a tribute on this Mother’s Day, I would like to share a picture of my Mother, my style Icon.
For as long as I can remember my mother has always been a fashionable woman. She has always been conservative in her dress. As the wife of a Bishop, mother, sister and aunt, she has held her fashion image in high regard. My mom was a working woman who quit her job for a time but eventually went back to work.
Growing up I never saw my mother wear make-up, earrings or any jewelry other than a watch. Her fashion beauty was always in being comfortable with what was natural. She has always been known for being one of the best dressed mothers. She could always be seen at some function wearing, her signature style, a fancy hat. A style passed down from her mother, Brazil Jackson and eventually to me.
In true style a tribute to my mother, Sarah Youngblood, my fashion icon. My mother, a woman who taught me how to be comfortable with my natural beauty.
Love you Momma!

Mother’s Day Tribute - A Complete Woman
Mother’s Day Tribute - A Complete Woman
On this mother’s day and the launch of our blog, I would like to pay tribute to my mother. A woman I recall as a “complete” woman whom I have set as an example in my life. To me she had the right amount of beauty, style, confidence combined with unlimited love and passion for life and all things around her.
As is typical in Indian tradition my mother always wore a sari. I recall her even today, as she would stand tall in spite of her petite 164cms and always elegant in her crisp cotton sari with a perfectly matched blouse. Not a pleat out of place and wearing almost always only a smile on her beautiful face.
She was a complete woman brave and strong willed. As a child her advise to me was always “ Go after what you want in life, never be afraid to take risks or make mistakes but make sure you learn from them”.
She is long gone but those words have given me the courage to make independent decisions all my life. Even today her words ring in my ears whenever I am going through an uncertain or difficult moment in my life.

She was not a graduate but became a certified homoeopath and cured many people who had lost hope of recovery. But her ailment was too strong and big for her to overcome and she succumbed to it in 1988 just as she was approaching 50.
She comes into my list of the woman we are celebrating today. The evolutionary/evolved woman. A wonderful daughter, sister, wife and a mother whom I can never forget.
Love you always
